Gary Speed’s Death Through Suicide

One of the top leading causes of death in the world is suicide, health authorities say. It has even reached the top 20 causes of death for all ages among countries. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), about one million people kill themselves each year. The manager of the Wales national team, Gary Speed is no stranger to it; he ended his life at age of 42. He was known as a great midfielder. All his life, Speed was not known for being depressed and haven’t even filed a single Zoloft lawsuit.

His death has elicited sighs of disbelief, not only from fans but also from close friends and family. He taking his life was the last thing on everybody’s mind. He is survived by his wife and two teenage sons. Fans were left asking why. The life of Speed has left its mark on so many people. Issues with depression has never been present in his life, says Hayden Evans, his talent agent and close friend. Louise, the wife of Speed, was first to find him hanging in the garage. She was also rendered  clueless on the possible reasons of the suicide. The last show on which he was last seen in was in BBC1 Football Focus, which was taped just hours before he killed himself. The presenter on BBC1, Dan Walker, shared the information that Speed was nothing but that Wales played under him made them won four to one which affirmed his managerial skills.

The untimely death of Gary Speed has caused an outpouring of tribute for the late footballer. Mourning fans brought tributes outside Speed’s house and also the places where he used to play. They brought flowers, jerseys, scarves and other memorabilia that they have of the footballer. His death was asked to be spared from sensational press coverage.
